If you're feeling sad,
please call about our depression study
You may be suffering from major depression if your symptoms affect your work or daily activities. This study at the Toronto General Hospital will see if a novel investigational medication treatment with a novel mechanism of action is effective for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). The study medication will be compared to placebo (inactive medication).
Unlike other antidepressants, the study medication is thought to work by enhancing the body's own natural brain chemistry.
You might be able to take part in this study if you:
- Are 18 to 65 years old and can commute to downtown Toronto; and,
- Have a current Major Depressive Episode (MDE).
Study participants will be in the study for approximately 6 weeks. There will be approximately 8 visits to the study doctor. There is no cost to study participants for any visits to the study doctor, medical exams, lab tests, or study medication.
